Back to School: Gearing up with Research & Evidence
The Academic Collaborative for Integrative Health hosted a collaborative webinar series on research literacy and evidence informed practice. This five part, first of its kind monthly series, journeyed from the role of research in massage therapy, to practical ways of incorporating evidence into everyday practice.
We were honored to produce the series in conjunction with multiple massage therapy organizations including:
- Alliance for Massage Therapy Education (AFMTE)
- Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA)
- Massage Therapy Foundation (MTF)
- National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB)
The series kicked off Tuesday Sept 23rd, 2014, with the first of four monthly 50-minute webinars. Topics included:
- Research Literacy and Evidence Informed Practice: Implications for Massage Therapists
- Examples from the Field: Everyday Use of Research in Practice
- What is Evidence Informed Practice?
- Journal Club Fundamentals
Additionally, we offered a fifth bonus Webinar for faculty:
- Teaching Research Literacy and Evidence Informed Practice
- The series provides background information suitable for both faculty and therapists in practice. To access the webinars click here
