Project for Integrative Health and the Triple Aim (PIHTA)

Welcome

Welcome to the Project for Integrative Health and the Triple Aim (PIHTA). PIHTA centers on assisting participants and decision-makers in the optimal use of the values, disciplines and practices of integrative health and medicine in meeting the goals of the Triple Aim.

Enhance the patient experience

Improve population health

Reduce per-capita costs

Most practitioners in these fields believe there is a strong alignment between their outcomes and these values. Yet their potentially substantive contributions are rarely explored in a medical culture promoting production of tertiary care services. With shifting payment incentives and a growing focus on health creation, the time is right to explore the intersection of the roles of integrative health and medicine with the goals of the Triple Aim.

One PIHTA goal is to continuously build-out the most useful base of published research, high quality gray literature and examples from the field to support engagement and implementation decisions. The literature and materials showcased on our site focuses on outcomes, particularly from studies in real world environments.

PIHTA's ongoing work is to engage leaders, highlight emerging practices, and feature experts in this area to build an interprofessional, multi-stakeholder community towards optimal use of these modalities and health professions in meeting the transformational goals of the Triple Aim.
