Integrative Therapies Pilot Project: A Holistic Approach to Pain Management in Medicaid

Findings from a 3 year study reveal that Medicaid beneficiaries with chronic pain experienced improvements in mental and physical health as a result of integrative interventions. Patients demonstrated less dependency on pharmaceuticals and noted positive side effects such as a reduction of symptoms and an improved QoL through satisfaction surveys. Reductions in pharmaceutical and Medicaid costs were also realized for the state of Florida.
