Fraser Smith, a naturopathic doctor, is the Assistant Dean of Naturopathic Medicine and an Associate Professor at National University of Health Sciences (NUHS). He is a Professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Professional Studies at NUJS.
Dr Smith graduated from Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, Ontario and completed at 2 year residency at CCNM. He also earned a master of arts in training and development from Roosevelt University. He is the former Dean of the Naturopathic Program at CCNM. Dr Smith was President of the Illinois Association of Naturopathic Physicians from 2008 to 2013.
Dr. Smith was the founding academic leader of the ND program at NUHS which joined NUHS’ family of programs in 2006. He is the author of several books on wellness and nutrition for the public and author of the textbook Introduction to the Principles and Practice of Naturopathic Medicine. He is currently Vice President of the North American Board of Naturopathic Examiners.
Dr. Smith is licensed as a naturopathic physician (Vermont) and is Licensed Dietetic Nutritionist in the state of Illinois. His interests are botanical medicine, and cardiovascular disease prevention.
