Dean, School of Naturopathic Medicine, Maryland University of Integrative Health

Dr. Elizabeth Pimentel is the founding Dean of Maryland University of Integrative Health’s planned School of Naturopathic Medicine. Trained as a naturopathic physician and midwife and with a passion for education and healthcare access, her career has encompassed clinical practice, legislative advocacy, and academia.  Her experience spans private practice, multidisciplinary integrative medical clinics, program development, and the successful licensing campaign for NDs in California.

Prior to joining MUIH, Dr. Pimentel served as Dean of University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine (UBCNM), where she took great strides toward enhancing curriculum development, improving student learning, championing strategic initiatives within the community, and increasing inter-and intra-institutional collaboration.  

Dr. Pimentel presently serves on the boards of the Academic Collaborative for Integrative Health and the North American Board of Naturopathic Examiners and is an Accreditation Evaluator for the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education.
