Welcome to the ACIH COUNCIL

Academic Collaborative for Integrative Health (ACIH) has merged with the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine (AIHM) and become an AIHM Council. We believe that quality patient care requires we shift our disease-based, fractionalized system to one that is team-based, collaborative and patient-centered, as well as one that focuses significantly more on creating health and well-being. 

The ACIH Council, originally formed in 2004, is the largest national voice representing Complementary and Integrative Health (CIH) organizations that have USA Department of Education recognition and are licensed in at least 1 state, including Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Massage Therapy and Naturopathic Medicine.

To advance our mission:

  • We ADVOCATE for a healthcare system that creates health and well-being and for the values and practices associated with integrative health & medicine.

  • We STRENGTHEN understanding and cooperation among CIH educators, researchers, and clinicians.

  • We COLLABORATE with organizations on common issues and participate in collaborative projects

  • We SHARE practical information on how to practice integration and collaborative practice in health care and

  • We EDUCATE healthcare disciplines on the depth, breadth and value of the Complementary and Integrative Health (CIH) disciplines we represent.
